The garment-dyed cotton feels broken-in from the first wash, no scratchy stiffness at all. It soaks up water fast after a shower and still dries soft, which I didn't expect from a renewed towel.

I was skeptical about a renewed towel, but this one feels just as plush as the Turkish hammam towels I've used. The organic cotton soaks up water fast and dries quicker than my old terry set. Two washes in and it's still soft.
