Category: Fermentation Jar

We’ve partnered with Sarah Kersten Studio to bring their artisanal stoneware to Coyuchi. Handcrafted from durable, non-toxic ceramic, this small fermentation jar is made for easy, small-batch fermenting at home.

Perfect for beginners or small kitchens, it features a traditional waterlock seal—an ancient design that creates an oxygen-free environment ideal for fermentation, as well as a matching lid and stoneware weights to keep vegetables submerged. Due to their handmade nature, slight variations in color and finish make each jar unique.

Brian ★★★★★

The ceramic feels nice and heavy in my hands, and the lid fits snugly to keep air out. I've already made two batches of sauerkraut with it, and they turned out perfectly.

Samuel N. ★★★★★

I was nervous about trying small-batch ferments, but the non-toxic ceramic keeps everything tasting clean without any metallic aftertone. The jar’s compact size fits perfectly on my counter, and the stoneware feels sturdy enough to last for years.

Nicholas X. ★★★★★

The handcrafted feel of the stoneware is really nice, and it’s the perfect size for a small batch of kimchi. The non-toxic ceramic gives me peace of mind since it’s sitting on my counter for days.
